MCS Translational Research Clinician-Scientist Survey
The MCS Council has approved the formation of the Translational Microvascular Research ad-hoc subcommittee.
Microvascular research is vitally important for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases in all organ systems. Despite the recognized value of “bench-to-bedside” research models, there are content and process barriers that limit connections between MD and PhD researchers. Some clinicians are unaware of the resources and expertise that can bridge knowledge gaps in clinical practice, and lab scientists frequently encounter challenges regarding uptake and testing of emerging discoveries. Increasingly, multi-disciplinary teams are required for innovative and impactful research and meaningful change in patient care.
